    Key Points

    • QBE is a global insurer based in Sydney.
    • It said premiums in Aus-Pac were rising about 11% for the quarter.
    • That’s lowest rise in past year, and below previous corresponding period.

Insurance giant QBE is pushing through double-digit premium increases in Australia, but the pace of increases appears to have slowed to the lowest in a year.

The Sydney insurer, which operates in 27 countries covering everything from aircraft to organ transplants, also said on Friday it remained on track in terms of disaster-cost expectations worldwide.
